*warning* this is the unedited version of my life and how I got to where I am now. Please understand some of this is not important to you but at the same time, I believe it’s important to be 100% authentic.
My Story (today)…
Hi, I’m Nate.
I’m an entrepreneur who is passionate about building businesses on the Internet.
I am fascinated by how internet technologies are changing the world of business and communication.
At the same time, I’m a web designer and developer with extensive knowledge of WordPress.
For the last 4 years I’ve helped small business and individuals with SEO, Social Media, and their overall online marketing strategies.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge to help organizations and people succeed online.
But I’ve not always been an Internet Geek…
Flash Back to the 1990′s
I grew up in the Florida Keys. As a young blonde-haired kid I enjoyed diving, fishing, and traveling. I lived with my mother and father on a sailboat.
Yup a sailboat. Kinda like water world (no not really…but close)…
I was an entrepreneur then too. I literally sold sea shells to local tourists for nightly income. I also sold bait to local fishermen.
I know what you’re thinking, “hemingway kid! huh”?
Well not quite. I didn’t realize how fortunent I really was.
Until…
I was thirteen when my father passed away. I was very close to him.
It was then up to me and my mother to support each other.
We didn’t have a lot of money.
My mother worked 15 hour days 6 days a week as a waitress. She sacrificed a lot while I went to school.
It was during the early and middle years of my teenage life that I found computers and the Internet.
2005-a double whammy
I graduated high school in 2005. This was just about the time I learned my mother was diagnosed with cancer.
After being treated she went into remission.
I went off to college knowing she would be ok.
But during my first year of college I learned the cancer came back.
In 2007 she passed away.
Finding myself and long nights at the computer
It’s not easy for anyone dealing with the loss of both parents. I was no dfferen’t.
But we all deal with events like these different. I went into isolation mode and focused on trying to figure out how to make a living from home.
I was already tired of working a 9-5 job with minimum wage and no benefits. I wanted to have more money than my folks had. I also wanted to take better care of myself. I know they would want the best for me.
In 2007 I saw people making money online. I continued to learn how blogging, SEO, and internet marketing all worked.
I found WordPress and started learning web design and HTML, CSS, PHP.
I was determined to make money online.
I did drop out of college for a few years but later attended the same school again. This time with a focus on digital media.
I learned making money online is hard work. And you need to stay consistent. I also found a niche with WordPress.
Today I own several blogs. I also mentor and give seminars to help people understand how to leverage the internet for business and career objectives.
I own a digital marketing company too. I help local small businesses understand these new technologies. I’m also actively growing a small team of professionals to help bigger brands and corporations understand how the new forms of marketing and media work in the 21st century.
My Mission
- To help people quit their day jobs and build sustainable income online
- To share my knowledge for the current and future internet economy
