Blogging with Google Plus Plugin for WordPress

by Nate Devore · 1 comment

This is my first attempt at using Google + as a Blogging "Curation" Tool-

It all starts here in Google + then my content is published to my blog via this new plugin you can download at http://www.minimali.se/103697821787469756035/

Special Thanks to +Daniel Treadwell for this plugin.

The plugin is using Google + API and options include choosing categories, authors, tags and many other options to control your feed via settings inside of WP-Admin.

Why is this good?

In conjunction with other apps like Dlvr.it and bufferapp.com I am able to post from Google + and have my content reach all my networks: Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and many others…

My Workflow

For now, I am waiting for @bufferapp to support Google + and then that will open up new potential with the iPad and other devices.

My current workflow consists of Google + –> natedevore.com (My Blog) –> Dlvr.it syndicates my RSS feed to –>Twitter –> Linkedin > Facebook + others

It's all about scheduling this!

I use Tweriod.com to analyze the best times to publish my content based on how active my users are on Twitter.

Now all my content get's delivered at PEAK TIMES!

UPDATE-Using Circles to Decide what gets Published

I didn't realize this first but if you publish information on Google + as "Public" it will be pushed to your blog. However, if you decide to share with selected circles, this content stays on Google +.

This is an excellent way to filter what you post on your blog from Google Plus!

Recommended Tools (I will write more about these later):

Bufferapp
Tweriod
Hootsuite
dlvr.it
Google + Plugin

I am considering this plugin. Here’s what I plan http://goo.gl/vwpyP. I notice that you are using a few nice apps. I have only used Hootsuite. It can also publish your Google+ RSS feed to Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter.
